NRA Highpower Match
The NRA Highpower Match was developed from military courses of fire. The first national match was held in 1903. And the sport has been going strong ever since.
Competitors fire service or match rifles using iron sights. Competitors will shoot in standing, sitting or kneeling, and prone positions. The match is shot at 200 and 300 yards. It consists of either 50 or 80 shots for record (plus sighting shots) fired in timed slow and rapid-fire stages. Competitors must furnish their own ammunition.
The NRA rules can be found at http://www.nrahq.org/compete/RuleBooks/HPR/hpr-index.pdf
The AR15 is the predominant rifle on the firing line, but it is certainly not the only rifle. The M14/M1A and M1 Garand can still be seen. Competitors may also use match rifles, which are highly customized bolt-action or semi-automatic center-fire rifles with custom iron sights, slings and stocks.
The entry fee is $20 for Adult competitors and $10 for junior competitors.

NRA high power classification will be used. Unclassified shooters will fire in the Master Class for the purpose of classification. We try to pair new shooters with experienced competitors.
